Over 30 civilians executed by paramilitary RSF in Sudan’s Omdurman, medics say

At least 31 Sudanese civilians, including children, were reportedly executed by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Omdurman, a city neighboring Khartoum, according to local medical sources on Sunday.

The Sudan Doctors Network described the incident in the Al-Salha area as “the largest documented mass killing in the region,” noting that minors were among the victims. The RSF accused the individuals of being affiliated with the Sudanese army.

There has been no immediate response from the RSF regarding these allegations. Since April 15, 2023, the RSF has been engaged in conflict with Sudanese army forces for control of the country, leading to thousands of deaths and contributing to one of the worst humanitarian crises globally.

According to the UN and local authorities, over 20,000 people have died, and 15 million have been displaced. However, research from US scholars estimates the death toll to be around 130,000.
