Türkiye, China to Collaborate on AI in Medicine and Agriculture

Türkiye’s Scientific and Technological Research Institution and China’s National Natural Science Foundation are set to collaborate on artificial intelligence (AI) applications in medicine and agriculture, Anadolu Agency reported. The partnership will focus on oncology studies, particularly cancer immunotherapy and magnetic resonance imaging.

A call for bilateral research projects includes initiatives like the “Cancer Immunotherapy and Clinical Translation Research,” aimed at developing treatments to enhance the immune response against cancer. Additionally, researchers will explore AI-driven techniques for creating three-dimensional anatomical images.

The collaboration will also encompass a “Green and Sustainable Agriculture” project aligned with the European Green Deal, targeting food security and environmental challenges. Applications for the joint projects are open until May 30, with funding limits of 3 million Turkish liras ($79,000) for Turkish partners and 5 million Turkish liras (1 million Chinese yuan or $131,660) for Chinese partners. Eight projects will be funded, each lasting up to 36 months.
