The largest annual iftar dinner in the U.S. took place at the Bayou City Event Centre, hosted by Houston Mayor John Whitmire and the Sister Cities Associations, attracting over 2,500 attendees, Geo News reported.

Coordinator Saeed Sheikh emphasized the event’s role in promoting interfaith harmony. The evening began with a Quran recitation and a video message from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who extended Ramadan greetings.

Whitmer praised the event as a collective celebration of community unity, while Green expressed his opposition to any travel bans based on religion.
