Death Toll from Cyclone Garance in La Réunion Reaches Four

Local authorities have reported that the death toll from Cyclone Garance in La Réunion, a French territory in the Indian Ocean, has risen to four, Anadolu Agency reported.

The storm has caused widespread disruption, leaving 160,000 households without electricity, 310,000 without water, and 139,000 lacking internet access, according to the La Réunion Governorate on X.

In response to the cyclone’s impact, authorities have accommodated 953 individuals in shelters. The governorate has advised residents to exercise caution and minimize travel due to ongoing hazards associated with the storm.
