Misbah Al-Hussein’s “Karbala Vision” project spurs local government to develop infrastructure

Holy Karbala’s Provincial Council has aligned with the developmental vision of Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation’s “Karbala 2030 project”, which aims at accommodating 50 million pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
Deputy Governor Ali Al-Miyali confirmed that the council has approved the Karbala Strategy 2025-2050, aiming to transform the city into a global religious tourism hub. The plan includes improving transport networks, roads, and visitor facilities to ensure smooth pilgrim movement.
Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation has been working on this initiative for three years, conducting in-depth studies and consultations with local and international experts. The focus has been on critical services such as water, electricity, health, and municipal infrastructure.
The foundation, headquartered in the holy city of Karbala, expressed readiness to share its findings with national and local authorities to facilitate implementation, ensuring optimal services for pilgrims visiting Imam Hussein’s Holy Shrine.
