Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi commemorates Sayyeda Zainab’s martyrdom amid difficult circumstances

Amid challenging circumstances preventing many pilgrims from visiting the shrine of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, on the anniversary of her martyrdom on the 15th of Rajab, the office of Grand Ayatollah Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi in Sayyeda Zainab area organized mourning ceremonies to mark this solemn occasion.

The office urged the faithful to set up mourning tents and organize gatherings to honor Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, emphasizing the importance of magnifying her legacy in line with the Quranic verse: “And whoever honors the symbols of Allah—it is indeed from the piety of hearts.”

According to the the Supreme Marja’s office, these rituals embody loyalty to and solidarity with the tribulations of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and reaffirm Sayyeda Zainab’s role in preserving the faith and delivering the eternal message of Holy Karbala.

The mourning ceremony was opened with verses from the Holy Quran, and was followed by a lecture delivered by the Husseini orator Sheikh Mohammed al-Imami, who shed light on the lofty biography of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, and the pain and sorrow she faced during her honourable life.

It should be mentioned that large numbers of Shia Muslims have begun holding mourning ceremonies all over the world to commemorate the painful martyrdom anniversary of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her.
