Anti-Islamic protesters in Australia rallied on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast to protest against a mosque which has gained development approval.
Muslim Organization Sunshine Coast bought a two-story house in Maroochydore from Uniting Care last year and applied to convert it to a mosque. That application was approved this week.
Two anti-Islamic groups have been running a strong public campaign opposing the planned mosque.
Opponents claim the site could become a hub of radicalization and threaten the local community.
Unlike last year’s rally which got heated, those supporting the mosque stayed away from the gathering.
