Tamil Nadu Muslims Protest Waqf Bill Amendment

Thousands of Muslims in Tamil Nadu staged a massive protest on Thursday against the Union government’s proposed Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, Muslim Mirror reported yesterday.

The demonstration, held at Rajarathinam stadium in Chennai, was attended by leaders from various Islamic organizations and opposition parties.

Protesters expressed their opposition to the bill, arguing that it undermines federalism and could negatively impact the rights of the Muslim community. They urged the government to withdraw the bill and engage in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders.
