RSF Attack in Sudan Leaves 40 Civilians Dead
At least 40 civilians were killed on Sunday in an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Gouz Al-Naqa village in Gezira State, according to the Abu Gouta Resistance Committee.
The attack, which occurred in the Abu Gouta area, left several corpses exposed, as the RSF is reportedly preventing displaced villagers from returning to bury the dead. The committee urged civil society organizations to pressure the RSF to allow residents to access the village for burial.
The RSF has not commented on the incident. Since taking control of Gezira State in December 2023, following the withdrawal of the Sudanese Armed Forces, the RSF has been involved in ongoing conflict with the SAF, resulting in over 16,650 deaths and millions displaced since April 2023.
