Pakistan: PTI Protests Erupt Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Demanding Release of Imran Khan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) organized widespread protests throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demanding the immediate release of party founder Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, and other detained leaders, Times Of India reported yesterday.

Local PTI lawmakers led rallies in all 13 provincial assembly constituencies, condemning their detention as illegal and criticizing the federal government for rising lawlessness and inflation.

Provincial Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi emphasized that the government’s failure to maintain order has exacerbated public suffering, accusing it of lacking a legitimate mandate.

Demonstrators voiced their discontent over heavy taxes and anti-people policies enforced under pressure from the International Monetary Fund. In various districts, PTI supporters displayed party flags and chanted slogans, calling for adherence to the Constitution and the immediate release of their leaders, asserting that only PTI can effectively address the nation’s pressing issues.
