Honourable house of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi hosts mourning gatherings over Holy Ashura

For ten consecutive days, the honourable house of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, in the holy city of Qom, has been hosting mourning gatherings commemorating the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The mourning gatherings were attended by His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, numerous eminent scholars, representatives of grand religious authorities, and other Husseini mourners.

The mourners expressed their grief and sorrow over this significant occasion, and shed tears of sorrow over the injustice and oppression inflicted upon the grandson of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.

According to a statement released by the office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, “these mourning activities are a reaffirmation by the Supreme Religious Authority of the importance of honoring the rituals of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, ensuring they are passed down through generations, and keeping the flag of Ashura flying high.”
