The United Nations is hosting the largest global meeting focused on the rights of persons with disabilities today, Tuesday, known as the 17th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, or COSP17. The conference will be held at the UN headquarters in New York from June 11 to 13.
According to the UN Information Center, hundreds of persons with disabilities, non-governmental organizations, and civil society representatives will participate in the conference alongside ambassadors from around the world.
The participants will discuss challenges and opportunities in the areas of employment, advanced technology, humanitarian crises, and climate disasters. The conference aims to introduce new ways to remove barriers and obstacles so that persons with disabilities can fully enjoy all rights.
