Army Officer Killed, Terrorists Neutralized in Balochistan Operation

In an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Zhob district, security forces engaged and eliminated three terrorists, Dawn newspaper reported yesterday.

However, the operation came at a tragic cost, as army officer Major Bahar Khan was killed during the intense exchange of fire.

According to the military statement, the security forces recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the eliminated terrorists.

According to an annual security report issued by the Centre for Research and Security Studies, Pakistan witnessed 1,524 violence-related fatalities and 1,463 injuries from 789 terror attacks and counter-terror operations in 2023 — marking a record six-year high.
