Security forces kill 6 terrorists in NW Pakistan

Security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed six terrorists during a clash, Xinhua reported on Saturday citing the military.

According to the statement, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the North Waziristan district, acting on reported terrorist presence.

“During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between troops and terrorists as a result of which six terrorists were killed,” the statement added.

The killed terrorists were “actively involved in terrorist activities as well as target killing of innocent civilians in the area,” it further noted.

A clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorist presence from the region.
