The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police in Pakistan has arrested 22 terrorists from banned outfits, including Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and Al-Qaida, Xinhua news agency reported.
The source mentions the arrests were made during intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province as the terrorists were allegedly planning to attack various organizations and government offices.
It adds that the police also seized a cache of weapons, including explosives, hand grenades, detonators, and improvised explosive device bombs.
This comes after a senior official of the CTD was killed in firing by unknown miscreants in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
