Shia clerics, preachers call for further efforts to promote Islamic culture among youth and children
Several Shia clerics, preachers, and officials of Islamic centers in Britain considered that strengthening the Shia identity among the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, especially among the youth and children, is a major responsibility that should be assumed by the Shia community, particularly the educated and learned ones.
They spoke to Shia Waves Agency on the fact that “the birth of a new generation of Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, whether in Britain or anywhere else in the European countries, requires further efforts to enhance Islamic culture among them and instill authentic values.”
They explained that such a significant task, which is within the realm of religious preaching as emphasized by the Supreme Religious Authority, is a great responsibility that should be shouldered by the religious and cultural elite to guide the youth and children to the right path.
The speakers emphasized that “the best way to instill Islamic values and morals and protect the youth and children in the diaspora is through holding and organizing Hussaini gatherings, reviving sacred rituals, holding intellectual seminars, and developmental courses.”
In this regard, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, in several of his speeches, has stressed the need for exerting further efforts to attract youth and children in different countries around the world and instill authentic Islamic culture in them.
