Restoration project of Nabi Yunus Mosque achieves 60% progress

Efforts to reconstruct Mosul’s Nabi Yunus Mosque, a significant religious and historical site demolished by ISIS in 2014, are well underway, with 60% of the structure work completed, Shafaq news reported.

The mosque’s prayer hall, three large domes, and the Yunus School are being restored in an initiative financed by local residents and donors, aiming to restore the mosque’s former glory and expanding its capacity to host over 1200 worshippers.

The Nabi Yunus Mosque is revered for housing the tomb of the Prophet Jonah, peace be upon him, attracting pilgrims across Abrahamic faiths.
