UN initiates appeal to provide aid to millions in war-torn Sudan
The United Nations launched a $4.1 billion appeal to provide urgent aid for 14.7 million people inside Sudan and 2.7 million refugees in neighboring countries, VOA reported.
The conflict in Sudan has resulted in “suffering of epic proportions”, with millions displaced and facing acute hunger, according to UN officials.
UN stress that the situation has been overshadowed by other global crises, including Gaza and Ukraine, urging for more attention and support from the international community.
The UN launch in Geneva highlighted the urgent need for increased humanitarian aid and emphasized the importance of political diplomacy to address the crisis.
