Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Almighty God has placed everything at the disposal of the 14 Infallibles

The daily scholarly meeting of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadegh al-Hosseini al-Shirazi was held on Thursday and Friday the 21st and 22nd of Jumadi al-Thani. In these sessions, just like the previous meetings, the Marja answered the questions of the attendees about various jurisprudential issues.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said in this meeting: God Almighty has placed everything at the disposal of the 14 Infallibles, peace be upon them, but what He has placed at their disposal does not belong to them, but belongs to God Almighty. Therefore, whatever God Almighty has belongs to himself, and this is the difference between the Infallibles and God Almighty.

His Eminence went on to say: In an authentic Ziyarat of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, it is stated: The will of the Lord in the quantities of matters descends upon you, and emanates from your homes. Here the emphasis is on the determination of divine affairs and not people, and numerous traditions and supplications have corroborated this concept.

The Marja also emphasized: The Infallibles, peace be upon them, have the ability to do anything, but this ability is not self-acquired and is an endowment from God Almighty.

On the topic of requesting certain things from Ma’sumeen, peace be upon them, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said: If a person addresses Imam Reza, peace be upon him, and says, “Heal me,” there is no problem, or if a person addresses the honorable Abbas, peace be upon him, there is nothing wrong with making such a request, because this is the authority and power that God has given to them.
