Iraqi Interior Ministry prohibits entry Iranian visa holders after the emergence of coronavirus in Iran

A source in the Border Ports Authority revealed the first action taken by the Iraqi authorities towards the emergence of the first two cases of the deadly coronavirus in neighboring Iran.

The source stated, "The Ministry of Interior prevented entry of any traveler holding a tourist visa to Iraq from any country where the virus emerged."

The source indicated that "this measure was taken some time ago as a preventive measure to protect citizens and prevent the entry of the virus into the country."

The Iranian Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, that two people were infected with the coronavirus, in the city of Qom, south of the capital, Tehran, the first time that the virus arrived in Iran, which borders Iraq.

It is noteworthy that the Chinese authorities announced today the death toll from the coronavirus across the country amounted to 2004, and infected more than 74,000 others.
