Sharif Shehata, the nephew of the martyr Hassan Shehata, condemned the arrest of the son of the supreme religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, Ayatollah Sayyid Hussein al-Shirazi by the Iranian authorities, warning of the reactions of these tyrannical acts.
In a statement received by Shiawaves, Shehata said: "The first of the preachers of freedom of view is Allah (the Almighty), and the first opposition was carried out by Satan. Nevertheless, God left him to object and express his opinion freely. We have never seen or heard of a prophet who has killed his opponents and we have not seen a messenger persecuting and arresting those who did not believe in him."
Shehata denounced what had happened to Ayatollah Sayyid Hussein al-Husseini al-Shirazi's, being arrested and tortured only for expressing his opinion on the so-called mandate Welayat al-Faqih, referring that "Every human being has the freedom to believe and freely express what he believes or objects", warning against any oppression and arrest of any jurist just because he expressed his opinion. "
"We have repeatedly warned against the reactions to all these acts of tyranny, for many tyrants thought that they were gods and after moments they became under feet" Shehata warned.
