A brigade, of the Popular Mobilization Units, has defused tens of improvised explosive devices ISIS had set to target the civilians in Iraqi-Syrian border towns.
The brigade is now securing the Iraqi-Syrian borders in order to block the way where ISIS militants cannot sneak into Iraq, in addition to protecting the civilian inhabitants of the towns.
Qasim Muslih, brigade commander, said that the brigade detonated some improvised explosive devices which were set complexly.
“Not only are the brigade’s tasks to secure the borders and protect civilians, but also offering medical assistance, food, and other necessities to the civilians,” added Muslih.
He also mentioned that the brigade has sent a blind father to 7 children – most of whom are girls – to a hospital of Imam Hussein Shrine for treatment.
