UN refuses Saudi-led coalition calls for supervision of Yemen port

 

UN refuses to a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen request to place a strategic port under its supervision.

The UN representative, Farhan Haq, called on the warring parties to hold responsibilities of their country’s official agencies. He added that the UN is not sending assistants based on political benefits but for humanitarian purposes.

The Bab al-Mandab is a strategic waterway through which nearly four million barrels of oil are shipped daily.
