Shia Muslims mourn Imam al-Jawad’s Martyrdom anniversary in Kadhimiya

The town of Kadhimiya in Iraq has been the scene of mourning ceremonies marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam al-Jawad, peace be upon him, the 9th Shia Imam.

According to Oyun website, thousands of Shia Muslims gathered at the holy shrine of the Imam in Kadhimiya on Monday night to mourn the sad occasion.

They had arrived from around Iraq and other countries. The holy shrine has employed everything at its disposal to serve the mourners and pilgrims in recent days.

Addressing the event on Monday night, Sheikh Ali al-Shokri, a senior cleric and preacher, highlighted the virtues of Imam Jawad (AS) and the Imam’s role in reviving true Islam.
