{"id":99037,"date":"2023-12-07T20:33:17","date_gmt":"2023-12-07T17:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/?p=99037"},"modified":"2023-12-07T20:33:22","modified_gmt":"2023-12-07T17:33:22","slug":"indian-government-to-investigate-alleged-cash-for-kidney-scam-in-apollo-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/uncategorized\/99037-indian-government-to-investigate-alleged-cash-for-kidney-scam-in-apollo-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian government to investigate alleged cash-for-kidney scam in Apollo Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Indian authorities have ordered a probe after reports emerged that a hospital in the Indian capital New Delhi was allegedly &#8220;embroiled&#8221; in trade of kidneys, an official told Anadolu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization, which falls under the Indian Health Ministry, has asked the Delhi government to probe the alleged cash-for-kidney racket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The probe has come after a report in London-based daily The Telegraph alleged that \u201cone of the world\u2019s biggest private hospital groups is &#8217;embroiled in a cash for kidneys\u2019 racket in which impoverished people from Myanmar are being enticed to sell their organs for profit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe scam involves the elaborate forging of identity documents and staging of \u2018family\u2019 photographs to present donors as the relatives of would-be patients.
