The “Wal-Qalam” Center for Arabic Calligraphy, affiliated to Imam Hussein Holy Shrine’s Quran House, held on Saturday ‘al-Naba al-Azim’ exhibition for Quran calligraphers in cooperation with the Iraqi Calligraphers Association in the area between the Two Holy Shrines in Holy Karbala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karra Al-Shammari, the director of the Quranic Media Center, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves Agency: “With the participation of 30 calligraphers from different Iraqi provinces, ‘al-Naba al-Azim’ Quran exhibition was launched, and will last for three days,” adding that “several events will be held on the sidelines, including the establishment of a Quranic forum in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, in which prominent reciters of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine are participating.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The head of the Quran House Department, Sheikh Dr. Khair al-Din al-Hadi, stressed in his opening speech that “the interest in this creative field is a clear message from the leading pens to those who violated the sanctity of the Holy Quran”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al-Hadi explained that “the calligraphers of Iraq are part of the defense system of the Islamic sanctity, and that the interest in the Islamic sanctity means reviving the Arab and Islamic heritage.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On his part, Imad Hatem al-Khafaji, representative of the Iraqi Calligraphers Association, said that “the Holy Quran was written by Iraqi calligraphers within a period of no more than 3 months by 30 calligraphers in the Naskh script, an accomplishment that some Arab countries were unable to complete.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
