The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said that the cyclone is affecting the Socotra archipelago with strong winds and rain, and is on track to develop into a severe tropical cyclone with potential impacts on the eastern Yemeni governorate of Mahra and the border with Oman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FAO said that destructive winds, severe storms, and heavy flooding are likely to occur as the cyclone approaches the coasts of Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
