{"id":97365,"date":"2023-10-12T17:59:34","date_gmt":"2023-10-12T14:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/?p=97365"},"modified":"2023-10-12T17:59:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-12T14:59:38","slug":"wfo-calls-for-global-aid-for-victims-of-afghanistan-earthquakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shiawaves.com\/english\/uncategorized\/97365-wfo-calls-for-global-aid-for-victims-of-afghanistan-earthquakes\/","title":{"rendered":"WFO calls for global aid for victims of Afghanistan earthquakes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the casualties and damages caused by successive and deadly earthquakes that hit western Afghanistan are increasing, United Nations\u2019 World Food Organization has made an appeal to the international community for humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In Afghanistan, this is a disaster on top of a disaster, on top of a disaster, on top of a disaster,&#8221; said Philippe Kropf, head of communications at the World Food Programme (WFP) Afghanistan, in an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further noted that, in addition to the loss of lives, tremblors destroyed important infrastructures, including health centers in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kropf also stressed that the World Food Program has initiatives in progress to prevent children from malnutrition in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the United Nations had announced that the lack of sufficient budget has made the process of providing assistance to the victims of the earthquake in Herat extremely difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local sources in Herat province confirm that as the result of the recent earthquakes, several historical reservoirs have been damaged in the region.
