At least six people have been killed in a suspected drone attack on an airport near the city of Sulaymaniyah in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, Al Jazeera reported today, September, 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident took place at the Arbat airport, located 50km to the east of Sulaimaniya, which has been used by the \u201canti-terrorism\u201d combat apparatus that is part of Sulaymaniyah security forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhether all the victims are from the anti-terrorism apparatus remains to be known,\u201d said Al Jazeera\u2019s correspondent reporting from Baghdad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two members of the Kurdish security forces were wounded in the attack and were rushed to a military hospital in Sulaimaniya under tight security, a police source told Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al Jazeera\u2019s reporter said that Turkish drones have been hovering in the area for the past three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Sulaymaniyah province is home to anti-Turkish and anti-Iran groups, and both these countries have been conducting air raids in and around Sulaymaniyah,\u201d said Al Jazeera\u2019s article, adding that it is not yet known who is behind the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
