In a tweet on Sunday, July 30, Secretary General of the United Nations urged the countries of the world to take decisive steps to end human trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So far, the official statistics of trafficked people worldwide have not been published, but last year, the head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime said that in the last 15 years, 60% of victims of trafficking were women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This UN official had further noted that conflict and tension around the world is driving people to despair, with human traffickers taking advantage of the situation as an opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Secretary General of the United Nations emphasizes the end of human trafficking in the world, while war, drought and environmental factors have caused most of the citizens of countries with weak economies to fall prey to human traffickers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
