The organization stated that the Emergency Committee recognized, in its Friday meeting, that the further outbreak of the pandemic remains a threat to the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It noted that the organization’s warnings date back to last January, when it warned of the possibility of the virus becoming a pandemic even though the number of cases at that time was about one hundred cases.<\/p>\n
WHO also warned that some countries thought they had crossed the stage of danger but were recently exposed to a new wave of outbreak, leading to many new cases.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The number of infected patients has exceeded 17 million worldwide, with more than 679,000 deaths.<\/p>\n
