The United Nations and its partners acknowledge that humanitarian aid alone will not be sufficient to sustainably address the increasing plight of human suffering of the Afghan people in the medium and long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, it has imposed severe restrictions against women in this country, including banning them from working in the offices of the United Nations and other international and domestic institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UN officials have repeatedly emphasized that these restrictions affect the provision of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan and have called for its cancellation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to UN statistics, 28.8 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
