The\u00a0United\u00a0Nations\u00a0Children’s Fund, UNICEF, warned on Tuesday that Sudanese families and children, who are fleeing their country towards eastern Chad, face new dangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UN department said in its report followed by Shia Waves Agency that, “Children and families who have arrived in Eastern Chad in search of safety, now face new needs and challenges as they seek refuge in provinces of Chad that are already some of the most deprived.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It added that, “As of 23 June, more than 140,000 Sudanese refugees and 34,000 Chadian returnees have crossed the border \u2013 over 90% of them women and children – and thousands more are expected to arrive as violence escalates in Darfur.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth mentioning that armed conflicts in Sudan have forced thousands of families to leave their houses in search of security, aggravating the already deteriorating humanitarian and economic circumstances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
