As the world celebrated the World Refugee Day earlier last week, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has ranked Yemen as the fourth largest country in terms of the concentration of internally displaced people around the world, according to the harsh conditions suffered by millions of displaced Yemenis in light of the ongoing conflict, lack of funding and the cessation of many relief programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UNHCR confirmed in the statistic it revealed that around 4.5 million Yemenis are internally displaced, with women and children constituting one third of this number, living under difficult circumstances and deteriorating humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to UNHCR, the displaced people face multiple threats, most notably, on security, protection, food and health levels, amid cuts in food rations by international donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
