More than 45 people have been killed in north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), according to the UN peacekeeping mission in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack, occurred on Sunday, targeted a camp where internally displaced persons (IDP) were sheltering, and is believed to have been conducted by militants affiliated to a group called the Cooperative for the Development of the Congo (CODECO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UN mission confirmed that the militants had brutally massacred helpless displaced people at the Lala displacement site in Djugu territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
