Millions of children have been severely affected by the quakes which hit the country earlier this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Around 2.5 million children in Turkey and 3.7 million children in Syria have been desperately trying and struggling to rebuild their lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
UNICEF has called on the international community to prioritise a child-focused early recovery and to ensure that children\u2019s needs are met within funding allocation. \u201cIn the aftermath of the earthquakes, children in both countries have experienced unimaginable loss and grief,\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe earthquakes struck areas where many families were already incredibly vulnerable. Children have lost family and loved ones, and seen their homes, schools and communities devastated and their entire lives turned upside down.\u201d said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell, who visited both countries just weeks after the initial earthquakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
