According to Indian media outlets, followed by Shia Waves Agency, “Fatima Kaniz, the candidate of the Indian National Congress party, received (80,973 votes) and won a seat in the Parliament against her rival Chandrakant Patel of the Hindu party, who received (78,261 votes)\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Media outlets quoted Kaniz as saying that she would “work to lift the ban on wearing the hijab for girls in schools and universities,” which was previously banned by her fierce rival in the elections when he was serving as Minister of Education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
