The Washington Post said that Afghanistan is facing the worst winter in years, explaining that many families cannot buy coal or firewood for heating under the rule of Taliban The newspaper Indicated \u2013 in its report \u2013 that 40 million Afghans are struggling to survive during a second winter since the return of Taliban, where conditions are much worse than they were last winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It explained, \u201cThe weather was exceptionally harsh, with temperatures often approaching zero at night, and more than 160 people had died nationwide due to hypothermia, in the isolated northern provinces, and snow had blocked many roads, and only little emergency aid could be seen.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report added, “According to the World Food Programme, nearly 20 million people face severe food shortages this winter, and 6 million people face food insecurity at a critical level.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report added: Many foreign aid projects, which distributed food and supplies last winter across the country, were also scaled back or suspended due to the impasse between international donors and movement authorities over women\u2019s rights, especially the new ban decrees that prohibit women from attending university or working in foreign charities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
