Armed group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned the country\u2019s main ruling parties of \u201cconcrete action\u201d against their top leadership in the government for \u201cdeclaring war\u201d against it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A statement released by the TTP \u2013 also known as Pakistani Taliban for its ideological affinity with the Taliban in neighboring Afghanistan \u2013 on Wednesday explicitly named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor a long time, TTP has not taken any action against political parties,\u201d TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in the statement shared with news agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut if these two parties remain firm on their position \u2026 then action will be taken against the leaders of these parties. People should avoid going near them,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c[Our] target is Pakistan\u2019s security forces who are acting against the country\u2019s interest upon wishes of the West,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The TTP statement also included a note of caution for Pakistan\u2019s religion-based political parties, urging them not to be a part of any action against the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The TTP threat came two days after Pakistan\u2019s top security body, the National Security Committee (NSC), announced its resolve to have \u201czero tolerance for terrorism\u201d in the country and \u201creaffirmed its determination to take on any and all entities that resort to violence\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
