The Indonesian online newspaper “Geo Times”, through a detailed editorial, recalled the famous “Al-Harrah” incident as a “tragedy that turned into dark history”, while noting that Muslims were not certain of the corruption of Yazid bin Muawiyah until two years after the Karbala tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newspaper said at the beginning of its article, that “about two years after the painful battle of Karbala in the year (61 AH), Yazid bin Muawiyah (may God curse him) invited some of the noblemen of Medina to his palace in the Levant, and people there witnessed for themselves the misfortunes and actions of Yazid that are contrary to Islamic law, which made the grandson of the Messenger of God, Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon him), refuse to pledge allegiance to him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The author of the article, “Hiri Bermana”, added, “The people of the city began to become more convinced that they did not want to pledge allegiance to Yazid as their new caliph.
