A bus stop in Karnataka’s Mysuru – at the centre of a controversy amid claims by a Bharatiya Janata Party MP that \u2018it is a mosque’ – has been given a makeover. Photographs circulating online show three gold-shaped domes atop the structure – commissioned by another lawmaker of the ruling BJP – have been replaced with a single red-colored dome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bus stop had been threatened with demolition by BJP MP Pratap Simha, who gleefully shared photos of the new structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’ve seen it on social media. The bus stand has three domes, a big one in the middle and two small ones beside it. That’s a masjid only,” Simha had said earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Engineers have to remove this type of structure. Otherwise, I’ll bring JCB and bring it down.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reacting to Simha’s statements, Congress MLA Tanveer Sait said, “What do we do if everything looks like the shape of the mosque? I don’t know who designed that shelter.
