The head of the delegation, Archbishop John Jihad Battah, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Damascus, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency: “We are a delegation of Christian Catholics who came from Syria and Lebanon. We were accompanied on the tour by the Deputy Patriarch in Basra province, Firas Dardar, and the Deputy Patriarch in Beirut, Charles Murad, and we came to have the honor of visiting the holy places in Najaf, Karbala, and the archaeological sites in the city of Ur in southern Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
