In a statement published on the occasion of its founding, the Foundation stated that it “succeeded in reuniting 200 Shia families, who originally immigrated to the United States from Southeast Asia, East Africa, the Middle East, and the local Americans who converted to the Shia sect.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement explained that “the foundation, which was established in 2003, has scientific, religious and cultural activities, as well as the revival of Husseini rituals within the American society.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
