The Pew Research Center expected a rapid growth in the number of Muslims, which will equal the number of Christians in the world, during the next three decades, to jump to the highest by 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a new report prepared by the Center on the future of world religions, and population growth projections for the years (2010-2050), the center stated that the religious picture of the world is changing rapidly, primarily driven by differences in fertility rates and the size of the young population among the world’s major religions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the report monitored by Shia Waves News Agency, “Christians will remain the largest religious group, but Islam will grow faster than any other major religion by the year 2050.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It explained that “the number of Muslims will equal the number of Christians around the world during the next two decades, to jump higher by the third decade.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report pointed out that “Atheists and people of no religion will greatly decrease from the world’s population, especially in the United States of America and France.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It pointed out that “India will maintain a Hindu majority, but will also have the largest number of Muslims of any country in the world, surpassing even Indonesia, which has the largest number of Muslims.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the United States, the number of Christians will be three-quarters less than it was in 2010, and the number of Muslims will be the largest in forty years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
