This is not the first time that Shia shrines have been attacked, the Holy Shrine of Imam Redha, peace be upon him, was blown up in 1994, which resulted in the martyrdom of 26 people and the injury of 300 others on Ashura. The al-Askariyain Holy Shrine in Samarra, Iraq, has been bombed twice, in 2005 and 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses and local news agencies reported that the number of terrorists involved in the Shah Cheragh Shrine attack was three, and they reported the arrest of two people and the escape of the third person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mizan News Agency, which is affiliated with the Iranian judicial branch, described this attack as a terrorist attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
