The Office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, in the holy city of Karbala, issued a statement following the rockslide that occurred in the Droplet Site (Qattara) of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, near the holy city of Karbala, a few days ago, which claimed the lives of several believers, women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the name of Allah, The Most Merciful, Most Compassionate<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(Those who, when faced with a disaster, say, \u201cSurely to Allah we belong and to Him we will \u02f9all\u02fa return.) Surah Al-Baqarah: Verse 156<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The catastrophe of the Droplet Site of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, is another wound afflicted upon the heart of Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a wonderful historical landmark that reveals the event of the eternal loyalty, where the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, rescued the masses of his soldiers from a murderous thirst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The catastrophe of the Droplet Site is a terrible calamity that afflicted the hearts of Iraqis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We ask God Almighty to bless the souls of the victims, speed up the recovery of the wounded, and give patience to their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
