The media said: “Yesterday evening, Nigerian forces attacked a group of Shia mourners who were attending a peaceful annual march to commemorate Ashura in the city of Zaria in Kaduna state.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Media outlets added, “The attack was directed at the mourners, and led to the death of 6 people, and a large number of them seriously injured.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying: “The number of wounded reached 50, and they were transferred to health centers for treatment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eyewitnesses stated that “the procession actually ended safely, until the police moved and started firing tear gas and directed their fatal bullets at them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
