A school principal in France insulted two veiled Muslim students for allegedly spreading Islam, according to a video clip published by the Coordination for Combating Islamophobia in Europe on its Twitter account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The video published by the Coordination indicated that the school principal gathered the student “Lea” and her friend and asked them to walk behind the students and lower their heads because of their headscarves, because they are practicing the call to Islam, in an attempt to insult them in front of the rest of the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During Lea’s presentation of her testimony to the Coordination, she said that she wanted to document the incident because of its cruelty, noting that the principal described them in various offensive terms because of their veil, which he considered a product of the call to Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result, tweeters and activists on social media platforms expressed their solidarity with Lea and her friend, while others confirmed that the principal deliberately harassed and insulted the two girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2004 France banned the headscarf in the classroom, and in 2010 it banned the full-face veil in the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
