The Information and Culture Ministry announced that the policy was \u201cfinal and non-negotiable\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is just an outside culture imposed on us, forcing us to wear a mask, and that can create a problem for us while presenting our programs,\u201d said Sonia Niazi, a TV anchor with Afghanistan\u2019s TOLOnews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis decree is unpredictable for all female presenters because Islam has not commanded us to cover our faces,\u201d Niazi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery Islamic scholar and political figure has opposed this decree.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
