The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, announced that 10 million Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes due to the war and displacement within the country or seek refuge in neighboring countries.
Grandi said in a tweet on Twitter, “The war in Ukraine is so devastating that it has forced 10 million people to leave their regions for other regions within the country or seek refuge in other countries.”
The United Nations said that 3,328,000 Ukrainians were forced to seek refuge in neighboring countries, more than 2 million crossed the Polish border, 518,269 sought refuge in Romania and 359,056 sought refuge in Moldova.
The Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea said earlier that long queues of Ukrainian refugees were gathering at checkpoints in the north of the peninsula.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communication of Crimea, Kirill Nagornyak, said that about 11,000 people arrived on the peninsula within a few days, noting that the majority are residents of Mariupol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
